Shanhai Art Museum nestles into its West Mountain and Dian Lake surroundings in Kunming. The interior design aims to create a harmonious relationship between the museum and its environs. The lighting, furniture and artwork are all extracted from the elements of mountains, lakes and stone forests found in the local natural geography. It’s theme of “Dream as a Horse” is a nod to the fact the museum was built on the site of an abandoned white horse amusement park.
