Bringing country life to the city

Leading property developer Sino Group is bringing country living to downtown Hong Kong with 70,000 sq ft of green space, home to 120 plant and tree species, nestling within its Grand Central residential complex in Kwun Tong.

Prioritising greener living, the Group is collaborating with partners, such as MICHELIN Green Star restaurant Roganic, and urban farming enterprise Rooftop Republic, to offer residents an array of engaging educational activities that promote a more sustainable lifestyle.

Grand Central, which serves as Hong Kong’s largest urban redevelopment project undertaken by the Urban Renewal Authority, is one of Kwun Tong’s newest landmarks. The residence redefines urban living through the indoor and outdoor leisure space that spans over 97,000 sq. ft. and offers facilities that empower the community to be closer to nature and invest in their health.

Surrounded by commercial and industrial buildings, the tranquil green space within the complex is layered, horizontally and vertically, across multiple levels, accounting for approximately 30% of Grand Central. Importantly, this reduces the urban heat island effect and local pollution, having a positive impact on the environment well beyond its boundaries.

Grand Central showcases Sino Group’s eighth urban farm under the group’s green community project, Farm Together, which aims to bring the community closer to nature through seed planting. Overlooking Kwun Tong is the Green Kitchen, a semi-outdoor kitchen with multiple BBQ facilities and a dedicated planter for growing fresh greens.

Home to freshly grown produce, the Green Kitchen illuminates a sustainable way of living, where residents get to enjoy their BBQ feasts alongside homegrown herbs and vegetables.
